Some of the Most Frequently Asked Questions:

Who needs to complete a firearms safety course in Australia?

What topics are covered in the course?

The Firearms safety course covers topics such as safe handling techniques, legal obligations, secure storage, and responsible use. Participants learn about different firearm types, ammunition safety, and emergency procedures. Practical sessions include supervised handling and firing exercises to ensure proficiency and safety.

Do I need to pass an exam to complete the course?

Yes, the course includes theory and practical assessments to ensure participants have understood the material. This consists of a written test covering theoretical knowledge and a practical test demonstrating safe firearm handling and operation. Successful completion of both components is required to obtain your certificate.

Can I take the course online?

No. All theory and practical aspects of the course must be completed in person with a qualified firearms instructor.

What is the minimum age to enroll in a firearms safety course?

The minimum age to enroll is 11 years of age. Please visit the Category and Licensing section on the website for more information.
